Welcome to

Sunrise Church

Our History

We are a Christ-centered community of believers. We seek to glorify God and serve others in worship, education, hospitality, and in meeting people's needs for Christ.

Sunrise Christian Reformed Church began in 1995, when a small group of believers in Lafayette, Indiana felt called to start a new congregation centered on worship, community, and service. Those first gatherings took place in the cafeteria of Amelia Earhart Elementary School on South Ninth Street, guided by faith and a shared desire to grow in Christ together.

After months of planning and prayer, the church held its Grand Opening on Easter Sunday, April 7, 1996, marking the official beginning of what would become a thriving community of faith.

As the congregation grew, Sunrise officially became part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), embracing the Reformed tradition while remaining open and accessible to people from all walks of life.

Today, our church home is located at 909 E 500 S in Lafayette, where we continue to gather each Sunday to worship, pray, and learn together. Our services blend meaningful, Christ-centered teaching with a warm, inviting atmosphere that encourages participation and connection.

Now approaching our 31th anniversary, Sunrise continues to live out its mission: to know God, grow in faith, and share the love of Christ with our community. Whether you’ve been part of a church your whole life or you’re exploring faith for the first time, you are welcome here.
